In the beginning Elmer would shoot all day and print all night. He'd submit his work to leg art magazines, but unfortunately many of the mainstream "girlie" magazines didn't share his interest especialy direted towards the feets. Batters budget was very low and he discovered something that women had been seeking  for centuries, the indestructible nylon as his fortune and lifestyle. The present morals of the time consideret Batter's work for criminal and illegal photos, he faced court tirals, censorship interference following insuffcient funding. In one issue of silkstockings he reflects this in the editorial. Inadvertently he found his publisher. All 5,000 copies of the first "Man's Favorite Pastime" sold out

During the 1950- 60's and 70's he created Magazines like Black Silk Stocking - Sheer Delight - Leg Orama-Nylon - Double Take - Tip Top and Thigh High. In the 1970'ties he produced the now classic magazine Leg Art .

The loss of "inocense" imagination and the spirit of the pin up girls passed away with the entre of the real porn magazines in the mid 70'ties this also made Batters leave the scene for good. His force was the explite often obscene choise of postures he used for his models,  many of the photos share his passion for feets reflected in  the models standing on thier toes and they hardly ever wear shoes. This is infact a great exsample of the high heal shoes effect on the arch of the foot he still wanted to achive this ideal position even if the girls did not wear high heals.
Fortunately, in 1981 he was asked to republish his works in Leg Show magazine. Through the efforts of editor Diane Hanson, Batter's popularity has increased even more. Elmer Batters died of age in 1997, 78 years old. His photos and magazines are today classics and his artwok are today presented in exebithions in well know gallerys all over the world. Unfortunately did he not himself live to se this honor which he deserved so much for his lifework deticated to his fetishm.

As my serach for biografy on Elmer Batters came up with lots of photos but hardly any information about the man himself most of the information here is based on actually reading his famous magazines. There is puplized a few books which still can be bought on Amazon.com, original photos is also avalible i have seen some for sale on E-bay. Elmer Batters (1919 -1997)

Elmer Batters has spent a lifetime looking through a viewfinder at women's legs and feet. Schooled in the classic Elvgren pin-up art of World War II, Elmer began photographing live models in the late 1940's in sunny Los Angeles, California. Unlike his peers, Batters wasn't breast-obsessed. He had another passion.

The work of Batters are classified as fetish photography. Devising literally hundreds of different scenarios over 35 years photographing from the tip of the toes to the top of the hose. His unique work is sure to intrigue the collector of nylonstocking erotica.

A true fetisht 1000 of photos can be found on the internet with girls and women in nylonstockings. The man himself where a rather anonymious person and despite my search all over the internet has it not been posible to really obtain much personal info about this great photografher. His style is very clear and your hardly ever in daoubt when your see one of his photos.

He considert full fashioned seamed stockings the onlytrue wear for women but did in the 1960 and 70'ties also a range of RHT stockings photo series. A truley mark of his work where his choise of models as he often used women age above 30 to the late 40'ties not the skinny type as we know them today but real naturel women.
He also classified girls legs and feet into a standart to set messurements of his ideal of beautyfull legs and feets which to this day is a inspiration for photografhers in this fetish.

The picture shows Mr Batter's handnotes regarding the photogentic ideals, its obvious that he had a passion beyond pure facination.The result of the perfection of his fetish made his photos classics.

 The final words belong to Mr Batter himself, this is what he wrote about his favorit model Caruschka :

When i say Caruschka was my favorit model, i dont just mean me. No girl in the histroy of my leg art business has atracted so many admires as she. Kinda hard to belive these days, i know she a littel heavier than the fashion.
Caruschka has charisma though, she still shines through. She also have a beuatyfull set of full shapedly legs, firm and thrusting tits, and delicate, high arch feets. But are these things what make us love a women ? I think not. I think love or even sexual attraction comes from the sparkle a girls eyes, the lift of her eyebrow and the way her lips curl into that provocative smirk that hooks a mans soul like a hapless mackerel. This is Caruscha's strenght. Her face seduces me even now. these 25 years later as it has seduced thousand of you.
